The clear objective is to open the doors for GEORGE HUTCHINS, and other candidates connected to this website for 2012 and 2014 political campaigns, so as to prevent being dragged down by the weights of having to fight other battles, which should be fought by persons who cannot be damaged by blocks from the U.S. Republican Party, to attend nor be invited speakers at U.S. Republican Party functions, and U.S. Republican Conventions. N.I.M. Worldwide solutes both the Allied and German participants of the Battle of Bulge on the 60th Anniversary of this decisive World War Two battle. December 16, 1944 - January 16, 1945.
MOST GERMANS AND AMERICANS FOUGHT HONORABLY DURING THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE.
MOST GERMANS AND AMERICANS FOUGHT HONORABLY THROUGHOUT WORLD WAR TWO.
Following the American, British, and Canadian invasion of the European coast at Normandy, with the additional Allied gains in France, as the German Army seemed to be in full retreat, all was very quiet on the western front.
Many Americans, Canadians, and British soldiers believed World War Two in Europe would be over very soon, as Christmas of 1944 grew close.
Then suddenly, on the morning of December 16, 1944 the Germans attacked the U.S. Army from the Ardennes Forest with units of the German Army, and the German Waffen SS.
The German attack had the following objectives:
- Capture the port located at
Antwerp, where the Americans, Canadians, and British Armies in France were
receiving most of their supplies from England, in order to create logistical
problems for Allied military units on the European mainland continent.
== Cutting off the supplies going to American, Canadian, and British soldiers was essential to stopping Allied attacks against German units.
- Drive a military wedge between British-Canadian forces in the north, and American forces in the south, creating a logistical geographic division between them.
== This would create cooperation problems between British-Canadian, and American forces in regards to fighting on a united front against the Germans.
3. Capture as much American fuel as possible, because the Germans were low on Gasoline.
After the final object was reached in the west, if the plan worked, with the Americans, Canadians, and British neutralized for the time being, the Germans could then turn east to deal with the problem of invading Russian Communist armies, which were coming in mass.
The plan would work as long as the weather held out, which would keep the Allied Air Forces on the ground, instead of pounding German ground forces with deadly accuracy.
While on route to the port located at Antwerp, the Germans could not go around Bastogne, which was occupied by the U.S. Army 101st Airborne. The Germans were forced to completely surround Bastogne, and engage in bitter fighting with the U.S. Army, which refused to surrender.
This delay at Bastogne was a cost in time, fuel, and supplies, which the Germans were short of, due to the fact that the Germans were safe to advance as long as the Allied Air Forces were grounded due to poor flying weather.
Due to the closeness, and desperateness of the combat, the illegal killing of prisoners of war, was conducted by a small number of Germans, and also by their American counterparts.
THE Malmedy Massacre WAS A VERY ISOLATED CRIME, CONDUCTED BY A SMALL NUMBER OF CRIMINALS.
MOST GERMANS TREATED AMERICAN PRISONERS VERY WELL DURING WORLD WAR TWO.
Most Germans did not murder prisoners of war during the Battle of the Bulge, nor throughout World War Two on the Western Front.
Most notable was the Malmedy Massacre, where about 71 U.S. prisoners of war, were illegally shot by their captors, who were members of the German 1st SS Panzer Division, on December 17, 1944.
This was not the policy of the Germans in this offensive, to murder captured prisoners of war on the western front, and the criminals directly responsible faced criminal charges after the war.
VERY FEW OF THE GERMANS CONVICTED OF THE Malmedy Massacre WERE ACTUALLY PRESENT AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME, NOR KNEW OF THE MURDERS, WHEN THE CRIME TOOK PLACE.
THESE INNOCENT GERMANS WERE LATER ACQUITTED OF THEIR WRONGFUL COURT CONVICTIONS.
The final deciding factors of the Battle of the Bulge brought the Germans back to their original starting point at the Ardennes forest, by January 16, 1945, were:
- The fighting around Bastogne cost
valuable time, personnel, fuel, and resources, as Bastogne was rescued by
other U.S. forces, in a breakthrough of the German encirclement.
== The key to reaching the Antwerp port, and cutting off Allied supplies to France from England, was to capture Bastogne, which could not be by-passed, due to its location on key road junctions.
- The weather changed, making it
possible for Allied Air Forces to take to the skies and attack German ground
units, in spite of the presents of the German Luftwaffe in this operation.
== This would be the last time in World War Two, the German Luftwaffe would be able to make a large contribution to any military operation during the remaining months of World War Two.
== During the Battle of the Bulge, the German Luftwaffe lost 1,600 aircraft.
- The Germans simply ran too short of fuel, which was essential to keep the Panzers rolling.
January 16, 1945, the Germans ceased their offensive in the West, and began preparing for the defense of German soil, as most of Germany still remained under German control.

After the Battle of the Bulge, in spite of the failure to capture the supply port of Antwerp, the Germans launched close to 8,000 [V-1] and [V-2] guided missiles at the port of Antwerp and other Allied Military targets, with an effort to halt further Allied advances into German territory.
